The last quarter of 2012 was broadly stagnant, with an exception of investment, which contracted sharply. A decline in exports was offset by an identical fall in imports on the back weakening domestic demand. The recent fall in business confidence to the lowest level since September 2009 points to a deterioration in activity in Q1.
