The job market in East Bay continues to improve, with the unemployment rate dropping to 8.0% in February, 150 basis points lower than in February 2012, and better than the statewide rate of 9.7%, according to the California Employment Development Department. Oakland area employment grew 2.5% year-over-year through February 2013, with the professional and business services sector growing by a healthy 6.3%.
