Westchester County’s unemployment rate finished at 6.0% at the end of October, 1.0 percentage points (pp) lower than it was one year ago and 0.7 pp lower than the U.S. national average of 6.7%. Key sectors driving the economy in the Westchester metropolitan area included professional & business services and education & health services, adding 2,600 and 1,800 jobs respectively to the economy over the past year.
