Manitoba’s economy finished strong for 2013 as GDP growth remained at 2.5% for the year while construction spending remained steady. In early December, the name for the proposed mixed-use skyscraper to be built on a surface parking lot in Downtown Winnipeg was revealed. Fortress Real Developments Inc. and Mady Development Corp. announced that the project will be called SkyCity Centre Winnipeg and will be the tallest building between Calgary and Toronto.
