The Alberta Government has released a strong 2014 economic forecast. Estimating 3.7% growth in GDP, Alberta is once again poised to outpace both Canadian and U.S. national averages. The government projects 83,700 net new migrants in 2014. In addition to the provincial unemployment rate dropping to 4.3%, Alberta produced 87% of the jobs created in Canada over the past year, with the vast majority of job growth in the construction, retail and wholesale trade, and oil and gas sectors.
