The local economy has recovered modestly from the recession, regaining approximately 60.0% of the jobs lost since 2009. Year-to-date the area has posted positive job gains, and even after falling to a recent low in April, the unemployment rate edged higher to the current 6.5%. While some uncertainty remains with a few notable tenants, recent large expansions and renewals in Fairfield County bode well for the area’s economy.
