The FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed (Global) Index gained 3.5% during December 2014. Global equities decreased 0.6% and the Global Bonds market decreased 0.8%. Real estate markets in North America gained 4.6%. Europe gained 1.8%, while Asia was up 2.3% over the month.

The annual performance for 2014 for global real estate was 32.0% (-0.1%)* compared to an increase of 10.6% (23.9%) for global equities and a gain of 8.5% (0.4%) for global bonds. Annualised 10-year rolling returns for real estate investments stands at 8.2%. Equities gained 7.3% while bonds markets achieved a 4.1% return per annum.

At the end of December 2014, the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Index counted a total of 314 (309) constituents, representing a freefloat market capitalisation of over EUR 1,036 billion (EUR 773 billion).
