A research produced by
2016 started with a market crash and then between Brexit and the US election, it looked like a political roller coaster was on its way. But the most startling take-away was the fact that by the end of the year, ultimately markets looked barely affected by all of this. On the contrary, 2016 actually opened the door for rising inflation and interest rate normalisation. In this Monthly Investment Strategy (MIS), we attempt the humbling exercise of acknowledging what we got wrong and examine what lessons we could draw from 2016 as we move into 2017.
