Having analysed the Manufacturing Location Index criteria, the country that is placed in first position is the Republic of Korea. It scores well in a number of sub-categories, most notably in Education and benefitting from a relatively inexpensive and secure energy network. Furthermore, the Manufacturing Index reveals that of the countries that make up the top ten positions, seven of these countries are located within the Asia Pacific (APAC ) region. The case for South Korea as an excellent candidate country for manufacturing is highlighted by the fact that it is the seventh largest manufacturing nation globally in terms of output.
