The high technology sector continues to fuel growth in San Mateo County. In the twelve months through March 2013, high tech employment grew by 6.4% contributing to a 2.5% total employment growth rate for the county according to Moody’s Analytics. San Mateo has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state at 5.9% as of February 2013, well below the state’s average of 9.7%.
