Shenzhen’s retail sales last year is RMB 400,878 million, increased 16.5% year on year(y-o-y), but the growth rate slowed 1.3 percentage points. Among the main categories, sales growth of articles for culture, articles for daily use, communication appliances and gold, silver, and jewelry exceeds 30%, while sales of household appliances, motor vehicles, newspapers and magazines decreased. Consumer confidence recovered thanks to the prospect of a recovering economy at the end of last year, and in the first two months of 2013, sales of household appliances and video appliances grew 79.3% year on year.
