Although the Portuguese economy saw another contraction in Q1, recent improvements in consumer and investor confidence suggest that recessionary pressures stemming from the domestic economy have started to ease. Exports grew strongly on the back of improved competitiveness after very subdued three quarters and are currently the only driver of recovery.
