South Korea’s consumer confidence rebounded in May from the previous month. Thegovernment's extra budget and the central bank's rate cut boosted consumer confidence of an economic recovery, despite the ongoing sluggish economic conditions. Private consumption is expected to show a modest increase this year,helped by improvements in household income conditions and consumer sentiment. The Korean economy is expected to maintain its modest uptrend, in line with the gradual recovery of the global economy.
