Uk high street retail investment transactions (excluding prime Central London, auction and portfolio transactions) reached £376m across 84 deals in Q4 2013. This was the highest quarterly total since Q3 2010 and was an 8% increase on the £348m across 81 deals transacted in Q3, which itself was a 38% increase on the Q2 figure of £252 million. In addition to completed deals, there are deals with a total expected value of £273m (based on quoted prices) that are currently under offer or have exchanged.
The total transaction volume in 2013 was £1.1 billion across 285 deals, 3% up on the £1.07 billion transacted across 258 deals in 2012. While this is the highest volume transacted since 2010, when £1.31 across 142 deals transacted, the high street market has not witnessed the surge in investment volumes seen across the other retail Sub-sectors.
