The economic environment of recent years has presented new challenges to real estate funds and investors alike. There has been a concerted move by many funds away from some of the traditional real estate asset types into alternatives. We have also seen the evolution of ‘Long Income Funds’ which whilst being real estate funds, have a defined non-real estate performance target more akin to bond performance.
