The Tulsa unemployment rate was recorded at 5.5 percent during the month of February, still well below the national average and .4 percentage points less than this time a year ago. More than 400 jobs were added during the first two months of the year, representing nearly 6,000 more jobs than February of 2013. Several companies, including Verizon, AT&T, and West Corporation, plan to add nearly 1,000 jobs over the next two years. The companies began hiring near the end of 2013 and will continue through 2015.
