According to the Turkish Council of Shopping Centres Investors (AYD) and Akademetre Research data, retail sales in shopping centres fell by 0.6% in August year-on-year. Whilst retail sales increase in food and hypermarkets, the electronics segment continued to decline. The Interbank Card Center (BKM) confirmed again the slowdown in instalment payments with credit cards in August, a trend which began following regulations introduced in February. However, total payments with credit cards did record a surge.
