Capital raised for European non-listed real estate reaches levels only comparable with 2007

The non-listed real estate industry experienced a 27.5% increase in capital raised in 2014 compared to 2013, with new equity rising to €122.7 billion from €96.2 billion previously.

Non-listed real estate funds proved to be the most preferred vehicle, globally accounting for 53.4% of total equity raised worldwide €65.9 billion was raised for these funds in 2014 compared with €47.1 billion in 2013.

Confidence in Europe and its non-listed real estate industry drove this increase. A global comparison in the Capital Raising survey showed that 55.3% of the equity raised worldwide was committed to non-listed real estate vehicles with a European strategy.
