Europe Watch - February 2016

"Think of London, small city, dark in the daytime". The lyrics to the 1980s Talking Heads song Cities comes to mind this time of year as the sun barely eclipses the horizon and a winter lull besets the town. London is often described as a collection of villages. From Bloomsbury to Bermondsey and Barnes to Bethnal Green, London can at time feel quaint, neighbourly and even a bit removed considering the important role it plays in the global economy. It's ne of the qualities that denizens rate so fabourably. But as we know, London isn't smal at all. It's a mega city attracting global talent to work for a broad range of business with a global reach. It has mega office towers often with quirky names, and more are being added on a regular basis. And London continues to attract mega capital flows into property from a diverse source of global investors.
