The preliminary February unemployment rate for Maryland showed a slight decline from January finishing the month at 5.7 percent. Year-over-year, the unemployment rate had a larger contraction of 1.1 percentage points (pp). Nonfarm job gains were focused on the financial services, professional and business services, and leisure and hospitality sectors.
