The unemployment rate for Westchester County edged higher since January, to 6.3%, 0.4 percentage points lower than the national rate. Total employment continued to grow modestly over the past year, however, office-using employment, which is the main driver of the county’s office market, has remained relatively flat in that time. The industry sectors seeing the most substantial gains have been the education and health services sectors, which rose by more than 4.0%.
