As the Stockton area economy slowly improved, the unemployment rate dropped by 130 basis points in the year ending February 2014, to 13.1%, according to the California Employment Development Department. Jobs in the transportation, warehousing, and utilities sector grew by 6.1% over the course of the year, and by 5.8% in the wholesale trade sector.
