At 488,000 sq ft, the first half of city centre take-up in Edinburgh was the largest we have on record. The Scottish referendum in September is hanging over some occupational decision makers but there were still a multitude of requirements that matured into deals in Q1 and Q2.
Encouragingly, the take-up total was made up of many mid-sized transactions, with relatively few large exceptional deals. The largest city centre deal of H1 was when Rockstar North, the computer games company, took 76,000 sq ft of grade A space for the sole occupancy of Barclay House, 108 Holyrood Road.
