The continued economic improvement of the nation and Northern California has trickled down to San Joaquin County. Statistics as of June from the California Employment Development Department reflect an unemployment rate of 10.5% for San Joaquin County, improved from the 12.9% reported a year ago. Relevant to the industrial market, year over year job growth in truck transportation was 6.1% and warehousing & storage was 6.0%. Despite any fluctuations in the farming industry, it is expected that these numbers will remain positive for the remainder of the year.
