The momentum of the very dynamic second half of 2015 in the Leipzig office market was carried over into the first quarter of this year. At 22,000 m², take-up was 10 % higher than in the prioryear period and also than the ten-year average. Just as in the same period last year, deals of up to 500 m² formed a solid basis, accounting for about 54 % of total turnover. But leases in the 2,000-5,000 m² size category also made a strong contribution of over 25 % to the successful start; that was more than 4 percentage points up on the prior-year level. The biggest slice of turnover (45 %) was generated by the City Centre, which is also where the largest leases were posted, by Mercateo AG (3,100 m²), ipoque GmbH (2,400 m²) and the student information centre of Leipzig University (1,400 m²). The Centre Fringe accounted for 31 %, much the same as in the same period last year, and the subcentres for 20 %.
