Portfolios changed hands for approximately €7.2bn in the German residential investment market in the first nine months of the year. This represents a decrease of more than 60% compared to the corresponding period last year.
The significant decline is particularly attributable to the low number of transactions for more than 5,000 residential units. There has been just one such transaction during the year to date (2015: 6). However, the overall number of transactions has remained unchanged (approximately 200).
