In Frankfurt, there are around 5,250 care places in 55 nursing homes. Some 800 of these beds are currently empty. Despite the current oversupply, however, further 960 additional care places will be required by 2030 in order to satisfy rising demand as demographic change progresses.
Private nursing homes are often less expensive than those of nonprofit and church-based providers since their personnel costs are lower owing to the absence of collective wage agreements.
