The Baltimore metropolitan office market finished the third quarter of 2016 with almost 11.1 million square feet of vacant space and a 14.1% vacancy rate. Both totals were down quarter-over-quarter. Net positive absorption in the third quarter totaled 158,539 square feet and total net positive absorption for the year is almost 455,000 square feet. Average asking rents are up year-over-year as limited new construction in recent quarters has prevented new space from flooding the market.
