Outlets: is the enduring retail asset coming out of its niche?

Outlets has historically been a fringe market, accounting for only 1% of total retail investments in Europe over the past decade, according to Savills, and less than 100 transactions were recorded on the sector since 2009, totalling about €8bn of turnover. However, having proved itself to be enduring in recent years and now offering attractive yields compared to traditional shopping centres, could the asset class be moving out of its niche?
