The logistics investment market began 2016 very buoyantly. The nationwide first-quarter transaction volume of 818 m € exceeded the relatively modest prior-year result by 64 % and also topped the ten-year average by a more moderate 29 %. This impressively confirms the upward trend that has been apparent for several years now. The broad spectrum of investor groupings involved also serves to underline the fact that logistics properties have now become established as a highly favoured asset class offering good long-term prospects. The increase in turnover took place across a wide front and is reflected in all market segments. With 579 m €, single deals accounted for almost 71 % of the aggregate volume and stepped up their prior-year total by 63 %, thus achieving their second-best result ever. Portfolio sales developed in similarly positive style, with a turnover increase of 67 % to 239 m €.
